AVAD Care was co-founded in 2024 by Andrew and Heather Dawson — named after their two oldest daughters. With combined decades of psychiatric and nursing experience, our practice is dedicated to patient-centered, accessible mental healthcare. Whether you visit in person at our Boardman office or connect through telehealth, our goal is to provide education, empowerment, and compassionate treatment tailored to you. We accept most major insurances and cash pay. Our cash prices are $125 for initial visit and $75 for follow up appointments. Our initial visits are 1 hour long. Follow up visits range from 15 to 30 minutes long.

A passionate advocate for patient-centered care, Heather discovered her calling in psychiatric nursing while working at an inpatient behavioral health unit. She has been working as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner since 2019. Happily married mother of 3 daughters.
